Dr. Omarh Mendoza is originally from Sonora, Mexico, were he attended the University of Sonora to pursue a Bachelor in Science in Animal Sciences from 2000 to 2005. Thereafter, he moved to the USA where he attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana from 2005 to 2011 where he got his Masters and Ph. D. in Animal Sciences with a focus on swine nutrition and production. The extent of Dr. Mendoza’s research during graduate school focused on alternative ingredient evaluation in terms of quantification of energy concentration, impact on growth performance and carcass characteristics of pigs.
After completing his graduate work, Dr. Mendoza moved to The Maschhoffs, LLC, one of the nation’s largest independent family-owned pork production businesses, headquartered in Carlyle, IL, and with operations across the nine states. He currently holds the position of Associate Director, Nutrition, where he oversees the company’s nutritional program for all stages of production, to include oversight of the Quality Assurance Program and Nutrition Research.
Omarh has co-authored a number of publications to include peer-reviewed articles, scientific abstracts and a book chapter.
